JOB TITLE: CERTIFIED TEACHERS - Alternative Education and Partial Hospitalization

Job Status: Full-time

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education; with a current PA teachers certification in Special Ed, or Secondary Education Math, Science and/or Language Arts.

Job Summary: This position provides direct care and supervision of children and adolescents, five to 18 years of age, in either a Partial Hospitalization or Alternative Education setting. This position is responsible for meeting the educational needs of our students while following the PA Standards and identified treatment plans. Staff members are expected to practice the Sanctuary Commitments and utilize S.E.L.F in promoting daily living skills, positive social interactions with peers and adults, and non-aggressive problem solving.

Work Hours: Flexibility required



JOB TITLE: CLINICAL CARE STAFF – Residential Treatment

Job Status: Full-time and Part-time/Hourly

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field; will consider combination of post-high school education and related experience working with children/adolescents.

Job Summary: This position provides direct care and supervision of children and adolescents, five to 18 years of age, in the Residential Treatment Program. This position conducts and coordinates daily group activities that are therapeutic, age appropriate, and support goals defined in treatment plans. Staff members are expected to practice the Sanctuary Commitments and utilize S.E.L.F in promoting daily living skills, positive social interactions with peers and adults, and non-aggressive problem solving.

JOB TITLE: BEHAVIOR COUNSELOR – Early Intervention and Alternative Education

Job Status: Full-time and per diem positions between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm or 1:30pm - 7:30pm

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field; will consider H.S. diploma with experience working with children/adolescents in school setting.

Job Summary: This position provides active, daily treatment and therapeutic strategies to clients in social skills, behavioral interactions, coping with emotions, autonomous intellectual creativity, and development of fine/gross motor skills via therapeutic recreational activities. This position also assists in academic educational basics in conjunction with home school-based recommendations, individual behavioral counseling, and crisis intervention. Staff members are expected to practice the Sanctuary Commitments and utilize S.E.L.F during daily interaction, but most importantly during social skills sessions and crisis intervention.

Work Hours: The Behavior Counselor schedule consists of daytime hours; Full-time and per diem positions between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm or 1:30pm - 7:30pm. Some positions require Saturday availability.

JOB TITLE: THERAPIST

Job Status: Full-time/Salaried

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a MA in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling  with at least two years of experience working with children ages 5-18 , who are experiencing serious emotional and behavioral disorders. Successful candidate must be able to work positively and professionally within a clinical/treatment team environment.

Job Summary: This position is responsible to coordinate child centered, family focused treatment, utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities and interventions provided by the Treatment Team.  Responsible to collaborate with the internal team and coordinate services with community providers to ensure every client receives adequate services.   Therapists use Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in conjunction with the Sanctuary principles and the components of S.E.L.F  to create a safe, therapeutic treatment environment.

Work Hours: Therapists employed with Sarah Reed Children's Center typically work a daytime M-F work schedule.

JOB TITLE: SUPPORT STAFF

Job Status: Hourly – Agency Wide 

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field; will consider combination of post-high school education and related experience working with children/adolescents.

Job Summary: Per Diem  On-Call staff perform all the essential functions of a Clinical Care Staff and/or Behavior Counselor while on shift. This position provides behavioral and emotional support for students and clients by implementing behavioral incentive programs and by employing a variety of crisis prevention methods and techniques.

Work Hours: Per Diem support positions require the individual to work a minimum of 20 hours a month. In some cases, temporary assignments for a longer duration may be available. Per diem staff always have the ability to contact program supervisors to inquire about open shifts and respond to daily needs for immediate staffing. Position shifts and hours will vary depending upon the particular program. Flexible schedules.

JOB TITLE: RN/LPN 

Job Status: Hourly – Agency Wide 

Qualifications: RN: Degree in nursing with experience in the mental health field preferred.  Pennsylvania RN license with no infractions required.  

                           LPN:   Must be licensed as a practical nurse in Pennsylvania. Experience in the mental health field preferred.

Job Summary: This position works closely with supervisors and staff to ensure a nurturing and therapeutic environment for clients, provides routine nursing care and assessment, and assists with QI efforts.  Responsibilities include: providing direct care and assessment of clients; administering medication; assisting psychiatrist and medical physician;  completing health assessments for every client upon intake; reviewing client injury reports; maintaining vital signs of all clients, and coordinating  therapeutic hold and therapeutic observation for medical evaluation as necessary.  Some on-call coverage required.
