Sarah A. Reed Outpatient Behavioral Health Services are available to families with children needing psychiatric and therapeutic intervention due to a loss, trauma/crisis, or school-, family- or community-based behavioral problems.  Interventions include: an Evaluation, Individual and Family Therapies, Blended Case Management, Psychiatric Assessment and Medication Management, and support, advocacy, referral, and linkage to community-based organizations and supports.

Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center offers Outpatient Services for children and families at numerous sites throughout the Erie Community.  In addition to Sarah A. Reed Children’s Center Outpatient Clinic, located at 1611 Peach Street, Suite 185 in Erie, therapeutic services are offered at Outpatient Satellite locations in the Millcreek, Fairview, Union City and Wattsburg School Districts.  Through these partnerships, Sarah Reed strives to provide children and families increased access and convenience to professional behavioral health services in their home schools and communities.  Our newly added Blended Case Management Services assist eligible clients and their families with gaining access to needed services, monitoring the delivery of those services, assisting with problem resolution and facilitating the linkage of client care with community services.  Our Parent-Child Interactive Therapy Program is a highly-specialized and effective intervention available to parents and their children ages 2.5 to 7 years, and is primarily used to enhance the parent-child relationship through positive interactions and development of successful parenting skills.

In order to create a child-centered, family-focused team, we are committed to modeling the Seven Commitments of the Sanctuary® Model: a commitment to Nonviolence, Emotional Intelligence, Social Learning, Shared Governance, Open Communication, Social Responsibility, and Growth and Change.  Using these principles as well as the S.E.L.F. model (Safety, Emotions, Loss and Future) the Outpatient Staff member will perform the role of working in concert with the client and family to support successful attainment of identified goals and objectives as a path towards improved functioning and a greater sense of resiliency, recovery, and competence.  The client’s Therapist and/or Physician will work to ensure that the client’s history of adversity is recognized in the delivery of their services, as well as provide direct interventions to address social, emotional, physical and behavioral functioning.
